Recently I listened to a presentation of a gentleman who is a trained psychologist and he said:
“We judge ourselves by our intentions and we judge others by their words or action.”
Examples:
When I come too late to work that is okay, because I work so much overtime. When I see my colleague coming late to work, then he doesn’t take his job seriously.
When I criticise somebody I do this with good intention in order to be helpful. If somebody criticises me, I think that she should not meddle in my business.
Do you have more examples that would fall into this category? Please share with us on this blog.
In any case, I think that this is a powerful insight, which we should remember sometimes before we react to or get involved into a situation.
