I just finished reading an interview in the German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche. They interviewed Mr. Herbert Seckler. He is a multi-talented businessman, owning restaurants, a wine distribution business, and clothing line.
The interview finishes with the question:
Question: Do people ask you sometimes for your recipe for success?
Answer: Yes, many do. Although, as soon as I tell them that you need to work about 14 hours per day for about 20 to 30 years, they have no more interest to continue the conversation.
Make the effort to study successful people. Even Thomas Edison who invented the light bulb had around 1000 failed experiments before he found the right way to make a light bulb.
Hard work is a common trait for success. Along the way, there will be many things going wrong, let’s call this learning experiences. At least we learned what does not work. There will be unplanned opportunities. Keep your eyes open for those.
The harder you work the more you learn and the more opportunities will come your way, hence success will be yours. Keep on working!
